Xander heads up extrabold's executive management team and is a seasoned hotel professional with experience in hotel management, ownership, consulting and asset management.

Prior to joining extrabold, Xander developed strategic consulting experience at Horwath Tourism & Leisure Consulting in South Africa, conducting market and financial analyses, concept development and strategic restructuring for hotels and resorts in Africa and the Middle East. Upon listing of Hospitality Property Fund Limited on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in early 2006, Xander took on the role of Asset Manager, and subsequently Chief Analyst, in which role he managed acquisitions and corporate finance.

Xander holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in European Hotel Management from the Hotelschool the Hague (the Netherlands) and has furthered his education in finance and law.

Joseph is extrabold's chairman and an accomplished professional in the hospitality and property sectors.

Prior to establishing extrabold, Joseph jointly conceptualised and listed South Africa's first specialised listed property company, Hospitality Property Fund. During his tenure as Deputy CEO of Hospitality Property Fund he oversaw acquisitions, developments and asset management.

Joseph has extensive experience in the hospitality industry having held positions as Managing Director of Horwath Tourism & Leisure Consulting in South Africa and various management positions within international hotel management companies.

Joseph holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Webster University (the Netherlands), a Masters in Business Administration from Trinity College (United States) and has furthered his studies in management at Carnegie Mellon University (United States).

Jacqui oversees hotel operations in her capacity as Director of Operations and has extensive experience in operating hotels both locally and globally.

Jacqui recently returned to South Africa from the Middle East, where she was Operations Director at Ishraq Hospitality Management, overseeing the rollout of their Holiday Inn Express properties in the region. She held prior appointments as Director, Operations, for the Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina and General Manager of Al Manzil (the first Southern Sun hotel in the Middle East in the prestigious Burj Dubai district).

Prior to her time in the Middle East, Jacqui haled various senior management roles and gained extensive experience throughout Southern and Central Africa with Southern Sun, Intercontinental Hotels Group and Protea Hotels.

Evan is responsible for finance across the group.

Evan has 17 years post articles experience gained across a wide range of industries, which included running his own business consultancy for more than half of that time. Prior to joining extrabold, Evan was Financial Director of William Tell Limited.

Evan holds a Bachelors degree in commerce from Natal University, a B Compt. Honours from UNISA and is a qualified chartered accountant.

Mark is Director of Information Technology and is responsible for ICT strategy and commercial operations. Mark is a recognized leader in the field of hospitality technology and is frequently invited to present at industry forums.

With 15 years in the IT industry, Mark has worked across a number of domains including professional services, ISP operations, software development and distributed commercial information systems. He has worked at both a technical and management level as an MCSE and Oracle DBA and managed a number of Internet, contact centre and integration projects.

Prior to joining extrabold, Mark spent six years at the Achievement Awards Group in operational, management and senior management roles.

Matthijs is extrabold's Director of Quality Management & Innovation and a leading expert in training and development.

Matthijs has more than ten years experience in the international hotel and service industry having worked in Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa. Besides his extensive operations experience, he has developed an acute understanding of developing and implementing service, sales and marketing initiatives as a project director across Asia and the Middle East.

Prior to joining extrabold, Matthijs headed up the consulting division of ProServ International, focusing on service and process improvement. Matthijs holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in European Hotel Management from the Hotelschool the Hague (the Netherlands) and is a guest lecturer at various universities and training colleges.

Tim oversees strategy and business intelligence in his capacity as Director of Strategy.

Prior to joining extrabold, Tim spent three years with Hospitality Property Fund Managers as Financial Analyst where he assisted in the acquisition and redevelopment of numerous of the Fund's portfolio properties. Tim has several years of experience in the hospitality industry having worked with Hilton International in The United Kingdom and The Netherlands.

Tim has a Master of Science in Finance from Nimbas University in the Netherlands and Bachelors of Hotel Management from Hotelschool The Hague and has furthered his education in finance.

Tim Harlech-Jones

Tim is extrabold's Development Manager and is responsible for developing mutually beneficial relationships with hotel owners, property developers and brand partners.

Tim is a qualified architect, having graduated from the University of Cape Town's School of Architecture, and is a member of the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP). Since joining the profession thirteen years ago, Tim has gained tremendous experience in the design and construction of hospitality projects, with a key strength in design, operational planning and project delivery. Prior to joining extrabold in 2013, Tim was an Associate Director with DSA Architects International, an international award-winning architectural practice specialising in hospitality and leisure projects.

Tim has been involved with and successfully delivered numerous hotel and resort developments across various brands and market segments,throughout Africa and the Middle-East, including South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Nigeria, Zambia and Mozambique. Some of the notable completed projects include the Fairmont Zimbali Resort (South Africa), Royal Livingstone and Zambezi Sun (Zambia), Old Town hotel and residential development (Dubai), Ikoyi Luxury Hotel and Apartments (Nigeria) and Doha Corniche Harbour Re-Development (Qatar).
